CYNTHIA DUBOIS - ARTIST PAINTER

A native of Santa Cruz, California, Cynthia graduated from the University of California in Santa Cruz and holds a design degree from the Fashion Institute of Design in Los Angeles. She studied fine art at the University of California Los Angeles, the Art League in New York and with various renowned artists in San Miguel de Allende.
After raising her family, Ms. De Bois moved to San Miguel de Allende to pursue her career in art full time, eventually moving to Ajijic in 2010.
Ms. Du Bois´style evokes an awareness of both Realism and Postimpressionism. Her palette application elicits an sense of restraint that reflects the passive nature of bygone times waiting to be transformed, resurrected or restored. Her paintings attempt to capture the beauty in the overlooked, the allure of quiet, forgotten places, crumbling buildings, and lost stories. Her work represents a vision of Mexico through an emotional lens—her discovery and love affair with the culture and life that Mexico provides us all. In Ajijic Ms. Du Bois continues her work in plain air searching for beauty and light in all places.
Cynthia is a full-time resident in Ajijic. She has had major exhibitions in Los Angeles and San Miguel de Allende.

                             -  VERMONT PASTEL SOCIETY

Having studied architecture in Romania , practiced there and in Canada,  also taught design and drawing for many years, Ina has chosen to concentrate on painting.
The brilliance and texture that pastels are giving to painting, their vibration and life have persuaded her into using them for most of her paintings.

The subjects approached are mainly landscapes rendered in a modern impressionistic style, trying to convey to the viewer the feelings inspired by the mood of a place.  Her still life compositions are showing the beauty of everyday objects and their meaningful relationship.   She also loves doing life studies celebrating the beauty of the human body.

By participating in many juried shows and in painting workshops she is keeping in touch with other painters and maintains a permanent exchange of ideas. She has won prizes in numerous juried shows and her work is in private collections in Canada, USA and Europe.

Inak is a Master Pastellist member of Pastel artists Canada and a Signature member of the Conneticut Pastel Society
She is now living in Ajijic  Mexico.  For information about her paintings she can be contacted by email at inak.gi@gmail.com or by telephone at 376-766-3550

LINDA DUNN. ARTIST PAINTER

After visiting Ajijic several times I decided to move here permanently in 2011. Soon after I moved a friend encouraged me to join her for a few painting classes and I am very glad I did. Painting is a wonderful creative outlet for me now that I am retired.
I love doing abstract work with acrylic paints on canvas or paper. Mixed media pieces are also great fun.
When I begin to paint I do not have a plan in mind. Instead, I just choose colors that appeal to me in that moment. I begin a painting and make changes and more changes adding layers and more layers while keeping colors and composition in mind. Eventually I arrive at something that pleases me. I love the creative freedom I feel when doing abstract painting.
In addition to my origional paintings I also offer limited addition prints, giclees and cards.

El solo gusta de transmitir su esencia con toques de energía através del color.
